Senior Associate – Financial Services (Transactional)

Base salary: 220,000–300,000 USD | Charlotte, NC or Charleston, SC | Hybrid (3 days in office)

Goldfinch & Partners is partnering with a leading US law firm to hire Senior Associates into a high-profile Financial Services practice. This is a rare chance to join a top-tier transactional team advising blue-chip financial institutions on complex, high-value deals while still enjoying a collaborative, people-focused culture.

The opportunity

- Work as a key transactional adviser within one or more of the firm’s specialist finance groups:

Syndicated Loans, Leveraged Finance, Securitization, Renewable Energy Project Finance, and Public/Bond/Real Estate Finance.

- Represent lenders and borrowers on sophisticated deal structures, including syndicated credit facilities and leveraged finance transactions for major financial institutions.

- Lead on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating core transaction documents, balancing technical excellence with clear, commercial advice.

- Collaborate with high-calibre colleagues across the finance teams to deliver innovative solutions on headline transactions.

- Join a strategic, growth-focused practice hiring up to five transactional lawyers into this group, offering real visibility and long-term progression.

What you’ll be doing

- Acting on complex syndicated loan and leveraged finance transactions from instruction through to closing.

- Managing multiple, high-value matters simultaneously in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.

- Building strong relationships with in-house counsel, deal teams, and banking clients as a trusted legal and commercial partner.

- Taking ownership of transaction workstreams, supervising juniors where appropriate and ensuring seamless delivery for clients.

What we’re looking for

- At least 5 years’ finance transactional experience, ideally from a major US or Am Law 200 firm or equivalent Big Law environment.

- Strong working knowledge of syndicated credit facilities and leveraged finance transactions, with an up-to-date deal sheet to evidence this experience.

- Excellent academics and technical skills, with the ability to operate at the highest level for sophisticated financial institutions.

- Currently admitted to the North Carolina or South Carolina Bar, or eligible to waive in immediately

- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset—comfortable working closely with partners, clients, and cross-office teams.
