Senior Backend developer

Job Overview

Sia Zoombox is looking for an experienced Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js and NestJS to join our onsite engineering team in Faisalabad. The ideal candidate should be capable of designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs that integrate smoothly with mobile applications and web platforms.

This role requires a developer who understands real-world backend systems, works confidently with frontend teams, and follows best practices in code quality, version control, and deployment workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services
• Build secure and well-structured RESTful APIs for mobile and web applications
• Collaborate closely with mobile app developers and frontend developers
• Handle database design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access systems
• Ensure backend stability, performance, and security
• Debug, optimize, and refactor existing backend code
• Work with GitHub repositories, branches, pull requests, and code reviews
• Manage builds, environments, and deployment-related tasks
• Follow clean architecture and backend best practices

Required Technical SkillsBackend & APIs

• Strong experience with Node.js
• Hands-on expertise in NestJS
• REST API design and implementation
• Authentication (JWT, token-based systems)

Databases

• MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL
• Query optimization and data modeling

Version Control & Workflow

• Strong command of Git & GitHub
• Experience with repositories, branching strategies, pull requests
• Understanding of build processes and deployment workflows

Integration & Collaboration

• Experience working with mobile applications (Flutter or similar)
• Experience integrating APIs with web frontends (React / Next.js)
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Redis or caching mechanisms
• Background jobs or schedulers
• Basic DevOps knowledge (CI/CD, environment configs)
• Docker (basic understanding)
