Senior Backend Developer (Django + Laravel) – On-Site, Islamabad

Job Description:
We are hiring a Senior Backend Developer to join our growing team at our Islamabad office. This is a long-term, full-time position for an experienced backend engineer who can take full ownership of Django projects and assist with Laravel (for one specific application). The ideal candidate is self-driven, writes clean and scalable code, and can solve backend challenges independently while collaborating closely with our frontend and product teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Django-based web applications
• Support and extend an existing Laravel-based project
• Design and build RESTful APIs
• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL/MySQL databases
• Collaborate with frontend developers using Next.js and other technologies
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
• Troubleshoot backend issues and contribute to architecture decisions

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of backend development experience
• Expert-level knowledge of Django and Django Rest Framework (DRF)
• Solid working experience with Laravel (PHP) for at least one project
• Strong database skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and CI/CD tools
• Ability to work independently and handle backend architecture
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to Next.js, React, or other frontend frameworks
• Experience with Celery, Redis, or async task management
• Basic DevOps skills (Linux server management, AWS, DigitalOcean)
• Understanding of performance optimization and security best practices
