Senior Backend Developer [React, Node JS, Supabase]- 6 months contract

Our code tech stack is Next JS, Supabase, but we welcome individuals with experience in other tech stacks as well.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with a proven track record of building and deploying multiple apps using Next.js or other JavaScript-based frameworks.

In this role, you will lead end-to-end product development, from concept to deployment. You will act as a lead developer, architecting modules, doing PR reviews, developing complex workflows, investigating new tools and APIs and unblocking and mentoring junior developers

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Build, and maintain scalable apps using Next.js (or similar JavaScript frameworks) and integrate them with back-end services.
• Architecture & Design: Contribute to application architecture decisions, ensuring security, performance, and modularity.
• Deployment & Infrastructure: Set up and manage production and staging deployments, utilizing tools such as Docker, Railway.com, or equivalent cloud platforms.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment processes.
• Database & API Integration: Work with Supabase (and similar data management services) to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure secure data transactions.
• Version Control: Collaborate on GitHub for version control, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers and product managers to understand requirements, and translate them into technical solutions.
• Performance & Monitoring: Conduct performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Best Practices: Uphold coding standards, conduct peer reviews, and mentor junior developers.

Qualifications

• 3+ Years of Experience: Professional experience in production environments using Next.js or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript: Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), React.js, Node.js, and the broader ecosystem.
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure: Comfortable with containerization (Docker) and deployment to platforms like DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• CI/CD Setup: Hands-on experience setting up pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) for automated testing and deployment.
• Database & Storage: Familiarity with Supabase or other SQL/NoSQL databases; able to design and optimize database schemas.
• Git & GitHub: Strong foundation in version control, pull request workflows, and collaboration best practices.
• Production Experience: Demonstrated ability to build, optimize, and maintain large-scale, production-ready web applications.
• Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for potential optimizations or refactoring.

Pay: From Rs250,000.00 per month
