Senior Backend Engineer

About us: Building the API and engine behind a platform used by merchants and payers. We need a backend leader to design secure payment flows and scale transaction systems.

What you’ll do

• Design & build core APIs for payers and merchant reconciliation.
• Integrate payment gateways and implement secure payment flows & idempotency.
• Implement webhooks and plugin endpoints for WordPress/Shopify/WooCommerce/Salla/Zid integrations.
• Ensure high reliability, observability, monitoring, and data integrity in payments.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years backend engineering; 3+ years Node.js with TypeScript (or equivalent in Go + TypeScript).
• Strong experience integrating multiple payment gateways and handling PCI-sensitive flows.
• Solid knowledge of database design (Postgres), transactions, and scaling patterns.
• Experience implementing webhooks, retry logic, idempotency, and reconciliation.
• Familiar with containerization and modern CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with financial compliance, KYC flows, or settlements.
