About the Role:

experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Laravel) to join our growing engineering team in Lahore. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in OOP PHP and MVC frameworks (preferably Laravel) and is passionate about building scalable, enterprise-grade solutions using modern architecture principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable backend systems using Laravel
• Develop and maintain microservices architecture
• Build high-performance, secure, and scalable RESTful APIs
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Participate in architecture and system design discussions
• Automate workflows through scripting and tooling
• Conduct code reviews and debug production issues
• Perform validation, verification, and unit testing (TDD where applicable)
• Monitor system performance using tools such as New Relic
• Ensure systems remain secure and up-to-date with evolving technologies
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams

Required Qualifications:

• 4–6+ years of experience in backend software development
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Laravel
• Strong expertise in OOP PHP and MVC architecture
• Proven experience developing scalable APIs
• Solid understanding of Microservices Architecture
• Experience with SOLID principles and clean architecture practices
• Experience with Unit Testing / Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Payments or Fintech industry
• Knowledge of TypeScript and/or Vue.js
• Experience with Statamic CMS
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
