About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer (Laravel) to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Laravel framework, API development, database architecture, and performance optimization.

Experience working in FinTech environments, payment systems, or financial integrations will be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend systems using Laravel
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
• Architect secure and high-performance database structures
• Integrate third-party APIs (payment gateways, banking APIs, KYC services, etc.)
• Optimize application performance and ensure high availability
• Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams
• Ensure application security and compliance best practices

Required Technical Skills

• 3-4+ years of backend development experience
• Strong expertise in PHP & Laravel (Laravel 8/9/10+)
• Solid understanding of OOP principles and design patterns
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Strong database experience (MySQL / PostgreSQL)
• Experience with queue systems (Redis, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with caching mechanisms
• Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows
• Knowledge of Docker is a plus
• Familiarity with AWS / Azure / GCP is an advantage

FinTech Experience (Preferred)

• Experience integrating payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, etc.)
• Understanding of PCI-DSS compliance requirements
• Experience with secure transaction processing
• Knowledge of financial reconciliation systems
• Experience with KYC / AML integrations
• Handling high-volume transaction systems

Soft Skills

• Strong system design thinking
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead backend architecture decisions
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Experience mentoring junior engineers

Nice to Have

• Experience with event-driven architecture
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
• Experience with testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Pest)
• Familiarity with message brokers and async processing
• Exposure to fintech regulatory standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs250,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
