Senior Backup & Storage Engineer

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backup & Storage Engineer with strong expertise in Dell EMC backup and storage technologies. The candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, and supporting enterprise-scale backup, recovery, and storage infrastructures. This role requires onsite presence in Riyadh, KSA, providing L2/L3 technical support and acting as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, manage, and optimize Dell EMC PowerProtect, Avamar, and Data Domain backup environments.
• Implement and support cyber recovery solutions to safeguard business continuity and data protection.
• Manage and support enterprise storage platforms including Dell EMC PowerMax and PowerScale (Isilon).
• Ensure seamless integration of backup and recovery solutions with VMware and multi-platform (Windows, Linux, UNIX) environments.
• Provide L2/L3 support and act as an escalation point for critical incidents.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, capacity, and availability issues across backup and storage infrastructures.
• Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to design scalable, resilient backup and storage strategies.
• Conduct system upgrades, patching, and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.
• Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guidelines for knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience specializing in Dell EMC backup solutions.
• Expertise in PowerProtect, Avamar, Data Domain administration.
• Strong knowledge of cyber recovery strategies and enterprise data protection.
• Hands-on experience with Dell EMC PowerMax and PowerScale storage systems.
• Proficiency with VMware environments and multi-platform backup integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to handle L2/L3 support in large-scale enterprise setups.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex infrastructure challenges.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Dell EMC certifications (e.g., DECS-SA, Dell EMC Data Protection Specialist).
• Experience with cloud backup and hybrid recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of automation/scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
