Senior Bartender

Position Summary

The Senior Bartender is responsible for overseeing bar operations at Huber’s Orchard & Winery, including maintaining a cocktail menu that exclusively features alcoholic products produced on site. This role creates seasonal drink offerings, ensures exceptional guest experiences, and provides guidance to the bar team to uphold quality and service standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cocktail Program Management
  • Develop and maintain a cocktail menu featuring only Huber’s produced wines, spirits, and other alcoholic products.
  • Create seasonal cocktails to enhance guest experience and support product promotions.
  • Ensure all drink recipes are standardized, documented, and consistently executed by all bartenders.
  • Prepare and serve beverages efficiently while providing outstanding customer service to all guests.
  • Educate guests about Huber’s wines, spirits, and cocktail offerings, making recommendations to enhance their visit.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing bar area at all times.
  • Provide training and guidance to bartenders on cocktail preparation, customer service standards, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Assist with scheduling, delegating tasks, and ensuring bar staff adhere to opening and closing procedures.
  • Lead by example to foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Monitor bar inventory, including ordering supplies as needed in coordination with management.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal alcohol laws, including ID checking procedures and responsible service guidelines.
  • Track usage of on-site produced alcohol to support inventory management and production reporting needs.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding menu changes, inventory needs, and guest feedback.
  • Coordinate with winery and distillery teams to stay updated on available products and upcoming releases for integration into cocktail offerings.
  • Plan and execute mixology classes for ticket sales.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience, with prior leadership or cocktail development experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail trends, and responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and guest service skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and peak seasons as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced bar environment.
