THE DEPARTMENT
Travel Agency Sales consists of Senior Directors, Business Development Managers, Account Managers and Inside Sales Account Managers The team increases sales for over 9,000 of our travel agency partners. They share product and destination information, promotions and incentives, and sales and marketing tools to help our agencies market and sell to their clients. Our Field Sales team (Business Development Managers) visit agencies, meet with owners/managers, conduct product training, and attend many industry shows/conferences to spread the Globus news. Our Account Managers support the three key verticals (National Accounts, Key Accounts and Strategic Accounts) along with Senior Directors. Our Inside Sales Managers conduct call campaigns, e-mail campaigns, and provide marketing flyers and tools to help educate the travel agent community.
THE POSITION – Senior Business Development Manager
The Senior Business Development Manager (Sr. BDM) is a dual-focused role designed for an experienced BDM (5+ years) who has consistently demonstrated sales success and leadership potential. The Sr. BDM will:

Continue to drive sales growth within their assigned territory, nurturing travel advisor and agency relationships.

Take on additional responsibilities to support broader company initiatives, including representing GFOB at national and regional events, collaborating on special projects, and providing leadership support to Field Sales Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Territory Sales & Account Management
-
Generate and grow sales within assigned territory, achieving established financial targets.

Build and maintain strong relationships with travel advisors and agency owners.

Monitor competitor products, services, marketing, and sales strategies to remain competitive.

Promote and implement advertising, sales promotion, and co-op programs with agencies.

Provide timely sales reporting, updates, and account activity tracking through Siebel.
Expanded Senior Role Responsibilities

Event Representation: Cover events, trade shows, and industry functions on behalf of GFOB as needed.

Project Participation: Actively contribute to company projects such as Tour Director and Cruise Director events.

Leadership Support: Partner with the Field Sales Manager and National Director of Sales on ad hoc projects, sharing insights from the field to improve processes and strategy.

Mentorship: Provide informal guidance and coaching to newer BDMs, modeling professionalism and best practices.
Operational Excellence

Ensure all sales activities are recorded accurately in Siebel.

Deliver polished presentations, webinars, and in-person trainings for agencies.

Identify process improvements that reduce inefficiencies and enhance advisor engagement.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The preferred candidate will demonstrate strong performance in:

Developing new business and growing existing accounts.

Managing sales accounts with effective use of CRM systems.

Leisure travel product knowledge and ability to position the breadth of GFOB’s brands.

Business acumen, competitor awareness, and ability to identify growth opportunities.

Proven track record of sales success over at least 5 years as a BDM.

Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to educate and influence.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Familiarity with Globus and Cosmos products, services, and benefits.
