Senior BI Engineer

About the Role:

KDD is seeking a Senior BI Engineer to manage and support enterprise data integration, data warehouse architecture, and BI solutions across Oracle Business Intelligence and Microsoft platforms. The role focuses on ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing data and reporting environments that enable accurate business insights and decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the data warehouse architecture to ensure scalability and efficiency.

• Create and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics initiatives.

• Optimize ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

• Develop and maintain a variety of reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools (OBIE, Power BI).

• Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and security.

• Use current change control standards and SDLC to successfully implement solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Oracle applications with other enterprise tools and applications.

• Take ownership and resolve service requests within SLA timelines.

• Lead the planning and implementation of application and technology updates and upgrades.

• Ensure data integrity and security across Oracle platforms.

• Document technical processes and develop user guides for new applications.

• Comply with Health, Safety and Environment regulations and working practices of KDD and the State of Kuwait when carrying out duties.


Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience with Oracle BI applications, Power BI.

• Application Development: Reports, BI publisher, Application APIs, Oracle Forms.

• Application Technology: Oracle Alerts, Oracle Business Events, Workflow, Web ADI, OAF, APEX is a plus.

• Integration Technologies: Informatica, Data Warehouse Administration Console (DAC), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Integration SOA Gateway, Rest APIs, familiar with XML, XSLT, and JSON data formats.

• Cloud: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and cloud migration strategies.

• Reporting and analytics with Oracle BI, Power BI.

• Must have Oracle applications and data source experience. Note: connecting Fabric, Power BI, or any BI tool with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (easy plug & play) or even SAP is treated as a source.

• Must know Oracle’s underlying technical architecture.

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or Microsoft Power BI – we are moving to this technology.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and debugging skills.

• Experience in Waterfall and Agile Methodology.

• Oracle Database: SQL, PL/SQL, Java.
