Duties
- Manage the full cycle of billing processes, including invoice creation, review, and distribution using advanced accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and payable records while adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
- Analyze financial data related to revenue cycle management, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and medical billing to optimize cash flow and reduce errors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing discrepancies through negotiation and effective communication with clients or vendors.
- Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting procedures and conducting internal audits as required.
- Prepare journal entries, perform double entry bookkeeping, and execute month-end closing activities with precision.
- Support governmental and non-profit accounting functions by ensuring proper documentation and adherence to regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable, or medical collections.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or similar platforms; experience with financial software like Quicken is a plus.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles, SOX compliance requirements, and technical accounting practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding systems, and revenue cycle management processes.
- Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for account reconciliation and account analysis tasks.
- Demonstrated ability in data entry, 10 key typing skills, and bookkeeping functions including journal entries and debits & credits management.
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette for engaging with clients or internal teams effectively.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with problem-solving abilities to address billing issues proactively. Pay: $61,537.00 - $68,350.96 per year
