Senior BIM Engineer (Security Systems Design)

Role Overview

MUST HAVE DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE IN BIM MODELLING, BIM COORDINATION, AUTODESK REVIT, AUTOCAD, NAVISWORKS, AND ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS DESIGN ENVIRONMENTS INCLUDING CCTV, ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS (ACS), AND INTEGRATED SECURITY SYSTEMS.

The Senior BIM Engineer (Security Systems Design) is responsible for leading BIM delivery, digital engineering coordination, and model management activities across complex electronic security, critical infrastructure, and mission-critical projects.

This role serves as the BIM and Digital Engineering lead within the Security Design & Engineering team, ensuring that all BIM deliverables, models, drawings, and digital engineering outputs are fully coordinated, compliant, constructible, and aligned with project requirements and BIM execution standards.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience delivering BIM solutions for electronic security systems within highly complex environments including Data Centres, Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), Airports, Transportation Infrastructure, Government Facilities, Utilities, Healthcare, Industrial Facilities, and large-scale Commercial Developments.

The role requires advanced technical expertise in BIM coordination, clash detection, multidisciplinary integration, security systems modelling, digital engineering governance, and client-facing BIM management.

The successful candidate will work closely with Security Design Engineers, Project Managers, BIM Coordinators, Consultants, Architects, MEP Engineers, ICT Teams, Contractors, and Client Representatives to deliver high-quality BIM solutions across the full project lifecycle.

Key ResponsibilitiesBIM Leadership & Digital Engineering Governance

Act as the lead BIM authority for Security Design & Engineering projects.

Lead the development, management, and implementation of:

· BIM Execution Plans (BEP)

· BIM Delivery Strategies

· Security System Revit Families

· BIM Quality Assurance Processes

Ensure all BIM deliverables comply with:

Review and approve BIM deliverables prior to client submission.

Drive continuous improvement of BIM processes, standards, and digital delivery methodologies.

Security Systems BIM Modelling & Design Development

Lead the development and coordination of BIM models for:

· CCTV Systems

· Access Control Systems (ACS)

· Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)

· Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems (PIDS)

· Intercom Systems

· Security Operations Centres (SOC)

· Structured Cabling Infrastructure

Produce and oversee:

· 3D BIM Models

Convert security design concepts into coordinated BIM deliverables suitable for construction and operational handover.

Ensure security systems are accurately represented and coordinated within multidisciplinary project environments.

BIM Coordination & Clash Detection

Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination activities across:

Act as the primary BIM representative for security systems during client engagements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree, Diploma, or Technical Qualification in:

o Or a related discipline

• Minimum 8–12 years of BIM and Digital Engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years leading BIM delivery on complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Proven experience within:

o Electronic Security Systems

o Critical National Infrastructure (CNI)

o Commercial Developments

o Airports and Transportation Facilities

o Industrial Facilities

o Mission-Critical Projects

• Demonstrated client-facing BIM coordination and stakeholder management experience.
• Experience leading BIM teams and reviewing BIM deliverables.
• Experience developing BIM standards, templates, and digital engineering workflows.

Pay: E£25,000.00 - E£65,000.00 per month
