Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and creative Business Developer to drive new business opportunities and spearhead growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong market research skills with entrepreneurial initiative, taking ownership of lead generation, client acquisition, and strategic partnerships. Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Research & Strategic Analysis
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify areas of opportunity and competitive advantage.
- Analyse demand patterns, pricing models, and industry shifts to inform business strategies.
- Identify and respond to new market trends, procurement notices, and competitor activities.
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Proactively identify and approach potential B2B clients including local authorities, housing associations, care providers, businesses in need for marketing services, and private property managers.
- Use a multi-channel approach (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, networking events) to generate qualified leads.
- Qualify and nurture leads through the sales cycle to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Build, maintain, and grow long-term client relationships to encourage loyalty and repeat business.
- Act as a trusted advisor and bridge between clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and delivery.
- Present tailored proposals and negotiate contracts with professionalism and confidence.
Strategic Growth & Business Innovation
- Develop short- and long-term business development strategies, focusing on sustainable growth.
- Identify and propose new business models, partnerships, and service offerings.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, logistics, and senior leadership to align strategy and execution.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and deals in CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot).
- Track and report on pipeline growth, conversion rates, and revenue outcomes.
- Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership to support decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with marketing to refine messaging and campaigns for different market segments.
- Work closely with operations to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
- Contribute ideas for product/service improvement based on client feedback and market insights.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management—preferably in logistics, removals, facilities management, disaster recovery, or property services.
- Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle—from cold outreach through to contract signing and client retention.
- Strong analytical, research, and commercial acumen with the ability to spot trends and opportunities.
Excellent communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage both public and private sector stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, with exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems (HubSpot or similar).
