Executive – Business Development (Embedded Systems / Defence)

Location: Chennai / Bangalore / Hyderabad
Experience: 5–7 years (defence / engineering sales preferred)
Education: B.E / B.Tech / Masters or MBA (Communications/ Business Management) (Electronics preferred) or equivalent

Short profile:
A hunter-type BD executive who converts leads into orders — confident in technical conversations, with established lab / systems integrator / DRDO / DPSU contacts preferred. The role is about building relationships, qualifying technical opportunities and closing procurements in the defence & embedded electronics space.

What you’ll own:

● Identify and qualify opportunities across defence OEMs, SIs, labs and large system integrators.

● Convert leads through technical discussions, demos and tailored proposals.

● Manage pipeline, produce professional RFx/RFQ responses and price/technical justifications.

● Coordinate pre-sales demos, lab visits, POC setups and technical follow-ups with engineering teams.

● Build and maintain relationships with scientists, procurement officers and decision makers.

● Achieve product-wise and annual sales targets; produce regular reports and forecasts.

Must-have (non-negotiable)

● 5+ years selling technical/engineering products; experience in defence or government procurement is a big plus.

● Track record of converting technical leads to orders (share 1–2 success stories).

● Strong written & verbal communication; comfortable with technical proposals and price justification.

● Ability to lead demos, coordinate lab trials, and articulate value to scientists/engineers.

Nice-to-have:

● Existing contacts in defence labs, DRDO/DPSU or Tier-1 SIs.

● Experience with institutional procurement cycles, tender/RFx processes and compliance.

● Comfortable with travel and customer lab visits.
