Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for supporting the strategic design and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI), Data Analysis, and reporting solutions for the Association. This position leads the early development and advancement of the BI and analytics strategy, delivering actionable data products that drive informed decision‑making. Ensuring data integrity and maintaining governance processes within the Association’s risk tolerance are central to this role. Position is hybrid and in Florida. Office is located in Alachua.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and supports all areas of BI, data analytics, automation, machine learning, and will provide input to artificial intelligence implementation.
  • Prioritizes and manages the request pipeline for creating and enhancing data products, including reports, dashboards and datasets.
  • Establishes and implements a simple Data Governance Framework focused on data integrity, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Designs and implements scalable, automated reporting frameworks and pipelines to support BI initiatives and enhance data democratization.
  • Extracts, cleans, and transforms data to ensure accuracy and reliability, supporting data governance initiatives.
  • Creates and enhances actionable data products for Board, management and staff use, using the data products inventory that s/he develops.
  • Stays current with developments in BI and analytics, making recommendations based on needs and the potential benefits of new technology.
  • Serves as a system administrator and subject matter expert for various analytical and BI tools.
  • Keeps abreast of data structure changes performed by data service providers.
  • Protects the confidentiality and integrity of data assets.
  • Assists with development and coordination of the Association’s model risk management procedures.
  • Supports third-party engagements to ensure data accessed or provided is accurate, limited, and secured.
  • Ensures the BI function adheres to appropriate change management procedures.
  • Supports the development and implementation of data retention procedures.
  • Develops a robust training framework to enable data literacy within the Association and to support users of analytical and BI tools.
  • Develops simple data products for staff to conduct their own analysis. Analyzes data to identify trends and insights.
  • Leverages automation tools, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to increase business operations efficiency.
  • Assists with integrating data directly into work processes and forms to reduce rekeying and simplify tasks.
  • Develops and maintains a solid understanding of key functions and data sources to best support the Association’s BI and reporting needs.

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess the following:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, information security, data science, or related field.

Experience: Minimum four years of direct experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including strong listening and presentation abilities, with the capability to clearly convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL databases, data structures, schemas, data connections, data modeling, and optimizing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
  • Experience with using and administering Tableau, Power BI, Power Automate, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, modeling, or automation and Quarto for publishing.
  • Knowledge of automating report generation and data workflows using Power Automate, or other automation tools.
  • Ability to implement BI solutions to ensure adequate data quality controls are in place.
  • Advanced organizational and documentation skills with ability to initiate, organize, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment and business needs, with ability to lead, plan and manage accordingly.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with build knowledge and skills.
