Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Buyer based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The Senior Buyer will lead the purchasing function for assigned categories, oversee vendor negotiations, manage supplier relationships, and develop sourcing strategies to maximize profitability. This role involves analyzing market trends, monitoring competitor activities, forecasting demand, and ensuring optimal stock levels to support business objectives. The Senior Buyer will also mentor and guide junior buyers within the department.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute category buying strategies aligned with company goals.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value.
Analyze sales performance, market trends, and consumer demand to optimize product selection.
Monitor inventory levels and work closely with the supply chain team to ensure availability.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and distributors.
Manage and review vendor performance, ensuring compliance with quality and delivery standards.
Supervise and mentor junior buyers, providing guidance and training.
Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to support promotions and product launches.
Prepare regular reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and market insights.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications :
Proven experience as a Buyer, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or supervisory purchasing role.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Excellent analytical abilities with proficiency in interpreting sales and market data.
Solid knowledge of retail procurement strategies and best practices.
Experience in inventory management and category planning.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management systems.
we prefer if you have bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Previous experience in food, FMCG, or retail industry is highly preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
