The Senior Buyer of Food Products is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing food inventory to meet the organization’s quality, cost, and delivery standards. This role requires a keen understanding of the food industry, supply chain management, and vendor relations to ensure the consistent availability of high-quality food products.
Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Procurement:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors for food products.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to achieve cost savings and maintain quality standards.

Stay informed about market trends, seasonal product availability, and emerging food products.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing waste.

Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to optimize storage and reduce spoilage.

Forecast demand and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Vendor Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

Conduct regular performance reviews to ensure vendor compliance with quality, delivery, and cost expectations.

Resolve disputes or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all food products meet company and regulatory quality standards.

Collaborate with quality assurance teams to inspect and evaluate incoming products.

Stay updated on food safety regulations and certifications.
- Forecasting:
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and sales patterns to predict future demand.

Develop and implement purchasing strategies based on forecasted needs.

Work closely with other departments to align forecasts with operational goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. (Required)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in food purchasing or procurement.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards (Preferable)
