Position Overview:
As the Senior Buyer, you’re a key member of the Global Procurement Team, reporting to a Director for Corporate Indirect Procurement. You will contribute to the success of Ball by serving as a negotiator for Ball with ongoing contracts as well as one time purchases. You will lead the sourcing processes, category review, RFI and RFP, analysis and selection process for assigned services.
Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:

Ensure supply of software, subscriptions, professional services in support of corporate functions; and management of enterprise travel programs to drive lower total cost of ownership and reducing indirect spend for the company.

Negotiate and implement corporate-wide agreements for assigned contractor service categories.
- Develop category market intelligence and maintain a supply base that ensures the best value for quality, delivery, pricing, service, etc.

Remain current with market trends and internal customer needs through relationships with suppliers and market experts.

Work with the legal department to facilitate the negotiation and implementation of supplier agreements.

Responsible for tracking the performance (financial and service) of assigned indirect sourcing categories.

Establish and maintain relationships with internal customers, key suppliers and lead supplier selection and negotiation process; implement continuous improvement strategies on an ongoing basis.

Develop and manage suppliers for contract compliance and ongoing performance improvement opportunities.

Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, the division, and the company; this includes an ability to handle stress and to interact with others in a positive and productive manner.
- Ensure and maintain safe and healthful working conditions while abiding by safety rules and regulations and encouraging the same in others.
Required Education, Skills and Knowledge:
-
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., MBA, CPM, CPSM, CPSC, PMP) preferred.

4 year(s) minimum job related experience of procurement experience with professional services (such as: such as consulting services, IT services, Software subscriptions, travel, etc.) that enabled working knowledge in the following areas:

purchasing principles, procedures, terminology, and practices
-
legal practices
-
customer needs and expectations
-
Proficiency with standard computer equipment (such as: Microsoft Office : Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Demonstrated skills in the following:

Negotiation skills: with customers (internal/external) and vendors and influence on new ideas of concepts.
- Analysis skills: ability to apply intensive critical thinking; manage large and complex analytical analysis and cost models.
- Active listening: ability to understand and gather business requirements from stakeholders; ability to read, comprehend, and follow complex verbal and written instructions.
- Work independently; self-motivated and able to work within the scope provided by leadership.
- Communication: Effective written and verbal skills.
Preferred Experience and Skills:

Experience using Coupa or similar systems.

Advanced skills with Excel.

1 or more years working with travel procurement.
- Spanish or other languages would be a plus.

High-speed repetitive manufacturing environment is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Salary Range: $74,600 - $104,160 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)-
This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). [Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
