Position Summary

We’re seeking a full-time Senior Buyer for our Los Angeles-based corporate office. The Senior Buyer will be experienced in women’s apparel, keep up with current trends, follow trend setting labels and brands. The Senior Buyer is also responsible for identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, processing purchase orders, and verifying delivered items. Will be working with a fast-growing team and collaborate with our creative team, providing hands on experience. This new and exciting team is looking to launch new categories and extend product lines. You will also be a mentor and provide guidance to the Assistant Buyers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working with the Head of Merch to run the merchandising department
  • Create product specifications and select fabrics, trims, colors, and embellishments
  • Overseeing the final production of designs, including fittings
  • Performing vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reducing operating costs and boosting efficiency
  • Maintaining cordial working relationships with vendors and supervising vendor activities
  • Signing and reviewing purchasing agreements with vendors, monitoring their performance and renegotiating contracts
  • Staying up to date on fashion trends and anticipating what consumers will want
  • Analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for product adjustments
  • Overseeing launching schedule and maintaining sample records
  • Conducting ongoing market research to identify new potential vendors

Job Requirements

  • Bonus eligible
  • 3+ years experience in Woman’s Retail/E-Commerce buying
  • Thorough understanding of fabrics, knowledge of trends and fashion
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to stick to a budget
  • Proficient use of Excel and MS Word
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively throughout the organization
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management
  • Independent, self-motivated, team player
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with short timelines and changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to travel twice a year to New York and Las Vegas
  • Sense of urgency, highly detailed, and experience in meeting deadlines
  • A positive go getter and team player, who can work independently with the ability to troubleshoot within a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69,805.00 - $105,200.00 per year
