### Senior Camp Counselor

Camp starts July 6 thru August 14 - 6 weeks located at 20 Carroll Street, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Three days of paid orientation and set up is required from June 29, 30,July 1 is mandatory.

Also a clean up day on August 15 is mandatory.

Must be 21 years old or older and have attended 2 years college or job experience.

Must fill out camp application ( on Christchurchpok.org web site)

Must have 3 phone references ( not family or friends)

After references are checked, an interview will be scheduled.

#### Duties:
- Provide supervision and guidance to campers in a safe and supportive environments
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs for campers
- Foster positive relationships with campers, parents, and staff members
- Assist in the development and implementation of daily schedules and routines
- Ensure the well-being and safety of all campers at all times
- Act as a role model for campers by demonstrating positive behavior and attitudes
- Assist in the management of behavior issues and conflicts among campers
- Collaborate with other counselors to create a positive and inclusive camp community
- Maintain accurate records of camper attendance, incidents, and activities
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities

#### Skills:
- Childcare experience, including working with children of various ages
- Ability to educate and engage campers through creative activities and programs
- Experience working with students in a classroom or daycare setting is preferred
- Knowledge or experience in theater or sports coaching is a plus
- Understanding of childhood development principles and best practices
- Strong behavior management skills to create a positive and structured environment
- Previous babysitting or counseling experience is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with campers, parents, and staff members
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- lifeguard certificate is a plus!
