Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Camunda 8 Developer to join the bank’s digital engineering team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing process automation solutions using Camunda Platform 8. You will work closely with business analysts, architects, and backend teams to deliver scalable BPMN/DMN solutions that integrate with core banking systems.
The role is hybrid (3 days in-office, depending on location). The office is in New Cairo.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Automation

• Design, develop and deploy process automation workflows using Camunda 8 (BPMN 2.0, DMN).
• Build and maintain external task workers, connectors, and service tasks for Camunda workflows.
• Translate business processes into executable process models in collaboration with business analysts.

Integration & Operations

• Integrate Camunda workflows with core banking systems, microservices, and APIs (REST, SOAP).
• Implement and maintain messaging integrations with Kafka / RabbitMQ where required.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of process models and workers.

Migration & Transformation

• Support and execute migration activities from Laserfiche to Camunda 8 (analysis, mapping, implementation of equivalent BPMN/DMN workflows).
• Re-engineer legacy workflows to meet current performance, security, and compliance standards.

Performance & Support

• Troubleshoot and resolve workflow execution and integration issues in development, SIT, UAT and production environments.
• Monitor process engine performance and implement tuning and scaling measures.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and deployment guides.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate with infrastructure teams on containerized deployments.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software development experience, with 2+ years hands-on working with Camunda (v8 preferred).

• Strong expertise in BPMN 2.0 and DMN modeling and best practices.
• Solid Java and Spring Boot experience; comfortable building microservices.
• Experience integrating with APIs and messaging platforms (REST, SOAP, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Proven experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tooling.
• Prior involvement in workflow/document system migration projects (e.g., Laserfiche Camunda) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Must be based in Egypt and available to work in a hybrid model in Cairo.
