Position Overview:
As a Senior Capability Development Specialist, you will design, develop, and deliver structured capability‑building and training interventions that support business performance across the organization. In this role, you will work closely with functional leaders and subject‑matter experts to assess capability and performance needs, define clear objectives, and develop practical programs and resources that enable teams to perform effectively.
This is not an HR or administrative Learning & Development role. The position focuses on diagnosing capability and performance gaps, determining when training or other interventions are appropriate, and delivering programs aligned to real business needs. This role is well‑suited to professionals who have developed their expertise through program‑based, project‑based, or capacity‑building roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Capability & Training Needs Analysis:
Work closely with functional leaders and subject‑matter experts to identify capability gaps and performance issues.
Conduct structured needs assessments using interviews, discussions, workshops, and data review.
Assess performance challenges and determine whether training or other interventions are appropriate.
Define learning objectives and draft capability development plans aligned to business priorities.
Capability & Program Development:
Design and develop structured capability development plans, curricula, and programs.
Translate business processes, workflows, and technical content into clear, practical learning materials.
Develop program materials including instructor‑led sessions, virtual workshops, job aids, and reference content.
Ensure content is practical, relevant, and focused on application.
Training & Facilitation:
Facilitate and deliver instructor‑led and virtual sessions for professional and technical audiences.
Adapt delivery approach and materials based on audience needs and context.
Apply adult learning principles to support engagement and effective knowledge transfer.
Digital & Blended Learning Support:
Support the development of digital and blended learning assets as part of broader capability programs.
Exposure to eLearning development or digital learning tools is an advantage; the ability to structure content and learning plans is more important than tool expertise.
Program Coordination & Management:
Coordinate capability development activities from planning through delivery.
Manage timelines, stakeholders, and program deliverables.
Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with internal teams, subject‑matter experts, and external resources as required.
Work effectively in environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, or evolving requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about practices and approaches relevant to enterprise capability development.
Contribute to improving capability development processes and standards within the Enterprise Knowledge and Learning department.
Qualification and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification is an advantage.
5–8 years of experience in capacity building, program or project‑based roles, training delivery, or related functions.
Demonstrated ability to assess capability or performance issues and determine appropriate interventions, including when training is not the primary solution.
Strong experience facilitating instructor‑led and virtual sessions with professional or technical audiences.
Experience conducting needs assessments and developing structured capability development plans.
Exposure to eLearning development or digital learning tools is an advantage.
Experience working directly with functional leaders and subject‑matter experts.
Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced, stakeholder‑driven environment.
