Position Specific Description

Our Operating Fleet Sourcing Department within the Engineering, Construction and Supply Chain Business Unit is seeking a Senior Category Specialist to join the team in Juno Beach, FL.


The Category Specialist should demonstrate the following capabilities:
  • Interpret spend and market data, forecast demand and trends, and convert analysis into clear recommendations, next steps, and measurable value including cost reduction, avoidance, and rebates.
  • Plan and deliver category initiatives end-to-end by managing timelines, dependencies, and risks while maintaining consistent intake-to-award cadence.
  • Results-driven approach with consistent delivery of savings, supplier performance improvements, and risk mitigation supported by disciplined reporting.
  • Strong financial literacy with the ability to connect category work to P&L impact, business risk, and operational outcomes.
  • Stakeholder partnership across business units, suppliers, and leadership by translating business objectives into sourcing plans, driving cross-functional alignment, and providing constructive challenge.
  • Supplier management expertise including market mapping, strategic partnerships, RFx execution, bid evaluation, negotiation of pricing/terms/SLAs, performance scorecards, and corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical tool proficiency with the ability to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.

Job Overview

This role develops and refines defined category strategies for critical and/or more complex categories. Employees in this role lead negotiations and identify improvements to secure cost savings and improve quality and efficiency. An individual in this role would also be expected to mentor category specialists and establishes benchmarks and expectations for category strategies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and refines category sourcing strategy
  • Conduct market and spend analysis
  • Leads negotiations with key suppliers
  • Aligns with BUs to collect requirements
  • Develops and maintains strategic relationships with critical suppliers
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
