Senior Civil Engineer (Solar Projects)

Role Purpose

The Senior Civil Engineer – Solar Projects will lead and manage the civil and structural engineering aspects of solar EPC projects, including design validation, site execution, quality assurance, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure project completion on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

● Review and validate structural/civil designs for solar PV projects (foundations, module structures, cable trenches, etc.).

● Provide input for geotechnical investigations, soil testing, and foundation design.

● Develop civil works schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely execution.

● Supervise site teams, contractors, and vendors for quality and productivity.

● Ensure QA/QC compliance in concrete, reinforcement, grading, drainage, and road construction.

● Coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams during installation phases.

● Monitor budgets, control costs, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

● Participate in site inspections, audits, and handover documentation.

● Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in civil construction for solar projects.

Required Skills & Experience

● B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

● 5–10 years of total experience, with at least 3–5 years in solar EPC or infrastructure projects.

● Hands-on experience in foundation, piling, and module mounting structure works.

● Knowledge of IS codes, civil design standards, and site management practices.

● Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro/ETABS, MS Office, and project scheduling tools.

● Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

● Willingness to travel to project sites across regions as required.

Preferred / Desirable

● Master’s in Structural Engineering or Solar Engineering.

● Experience in utility-scale and rooftop solar PV projects.

● Familiarity with renewable energy codes and environmental regulations.

● PMP or similar project management certification.
