As a corporate claims attorney supporting the Corporate Claims Process organization, you’ll partner with leaders in the Claims organization and collaborate with state claims attorneys on process projects, operational improvements, and daily business issues. In this role, you’ll provide legal process support for business areas such as Property Damage, Special Lines, Home and Property, Commercial Lines, Mergers and Acquisitions, Claims Learning, and Progressive’s acquisition investment projects. You’ll also support all aspects of the claims handling process countrywide, contributing to key initiatives and operational excellence.

Must have qualifications
  • Juris doctor degree and a minimum of 5 years of legal experience, including complex civil litigation and/or corporate process experience or related corporate experience.
  • Admitted to practice law in at least 1 state.

Preferred skills
  • Demonstrated experience proactively engaging business partners, understanding goals and metrics, and designing and/or understanding processes and compliance measures
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and work with different business areas
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving, risk assessment, negotiation, and legal skills
  • Ability to work independently with a minimal supervision
  • Insurance litigation experience, with a focus on bodily injury, complex coverage, or bad faith insurance litigation

Compensation
  • Base: $129,200 - $184,500/year based on position level and experience
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
  • Participation in our restricted stock units plan

Location
  • This is a remote role
  • The claims attorney will support customers countrywide and may occasionally be asked to travel to a Progressive office.
