Senior Claims Counsel

As Claims Counsel, you will play a key role in investigating, evaluating and resolving liability insurance claims, ensuring strategic case management and effective resolutions. This role requires problem-solving skills, the ability to analyze liability, damages and coverage, and the expertise to develop and implement resolution strategies that may involve litigation management, risk transfer, and mediation.

This is a fully remote role, open to candidates anywhere in the United States, providing flexibility while working within a high-performing national team.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate, assess and resolve insurance claims across Professional Liability, Construction and Design-related matters.
• Analyze liability, damages, and policy coverage to develop strategic resolution approaches.
• Work with external counsel, hiring defense attorneys, reviewing pleadings, and managing litigation plans.
• Prepare written coverage determinations and partner with coverage counsel as needed.
• Coordinate claims handling with insureds, claimants, and business partners, ensuring timely updates and resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed claim documentation.

What will help you succeed in this role?:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active attorney’s license.
• 8+ years of experience in insurance claims, insurance defense, or coverage analysis.
• Analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume claims environment.
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges with a proactive and hands-on approach.
• Strong desire to progress within the organization and build a long-term career in claims.
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration, feedback, and knowledge-sharing.

What we offer:

Competitive salary offering between $120,000 - $150,000 USD per year and performance-based bonuses.
