Senior CloudOps Specialist

ibex. is seeking a Senior CloudOps Specialist to manage and support cloud operations across AWS and Azure

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day cloud operations, including VM and EC2 provisioning; VPC/VNet design and creation; routing, subnets, NAT Gateways; security groups/NSGs; Direct Connect/ExpressRoute; firewalls; VPNs; and VPC/VNet peering.
• Ensure the stability, availability, and reliability of cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• Lead incident response, advanced troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Design, implement, and continuously improve monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks.
• Oversee cloud security operations, including IAM, network security, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Act as a technical escalation point for CloudOps and application teams.
• Drive cloud cost optimization and governance initiatives (FinOps).
• Ensure backup and disaster recovery readiness and lead DR testing activities.
• Operate, review, and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation pipelines.
• Enforce and evolve cloud standards for tagging, naming conventions, and account/subscription hygiene.
• Partner with IT Security to identify and remediate cloud security vulnerabilities.
• Support audits, compliance activities, and operational reporting.
• Mentor junior CloudOps engineers and provide technical guidance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• AWS and/or Azure Associate-level certification.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience supporting AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Experience with Windows services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Ability to work in rotation-based shifts and on-call schedules.
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts.
• High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple teams.
