Senior Consultant - MA and International Tax

Designation: Senior Consultant
Reports to: Manager/Senior Manager/Director/Partner - depends on project
Typical Experience/Qualifications: ADIT/Accounting (CA, ACCA, CPA) or legal qualification, with at least 4 years of international corporate tax consulting/M&A experience.
Job Role And Responsibilities
- Participates in proposals for tax projects and multifunctional projects including proposal writing, co ordination with other parties for inputs, and client interaction throughout the proposal process.
- Delivers high quality tax engagements for manager/partner review in a timely manner.
- Builds relationships with other functions and network offices, lawyers, investment managers, and other relevant external contacts.
- Co ordinates with other offices in a multi office engagement and reviews inputs to ensure the overall deliverable can be provided to senior management for timely review.
- Ensures risk processes are adhered to at all times; consults internally and with the risk team for engagements or client processes that deviate from the standard.
- Manages practice management tasks including timesheet submission, client files, billing, collection, WIP review, payouts, multi firm engagement documentation, and closure on the system.
- Communicates regularly with the partner/director on client, people, risk and practice management aspects, seeking inputs on key decisions and issues.
Relevant Skills And Behaviors Core and Technical Skills
- Basic to good knowledge of international corporate tax, holding structures, tax treaty networks, fund structuring, tax policy and risk management.
- Experience in tax due diligence.
- Knowledge of tax accounting, transfer pricing and international executive services related tax principles.
- Business development, client relationship and management experience.
- Assists Partner and Director in identifying targets, preparing action plans for client development, and cross selling opportunities.
- Risk management knowledge and application, ability to elevate issues; integrates risk management into engagement processes.
- Practice management skills: debtors, timesheets, billing, collection follow up.
- Report writing skills, ability to produce clear tax reports and opinions.
- Project management skills, coordinating multiple teams across jurisdictions.
Person Specifications
- Good academic record.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Fluent in English (verbal & written); Arabic skills are an added advantage.
