Senior Consultant Open Banking & Payments Ecosystem

Role Description:

We are seeking a consultant to identify, structure, and help execute partnership-led opportunities that expand the bank’s payments ecosystem through open banking APIs and Allied Payment Services. The role is focused on collaborating with local and international fintechs, aggregators, EMIs, wallets, digital platforms, and other ecosystem players to extend the bank’s outreach, enable new payment use cases and drive transaction growth through API-led partnerships.

Key Experience & Skill Set Requirements:

• Proven experience in identifying and developing collaboration opportunities with local and international fintechs, aggregators, EMIs, wallets, digital platforms, and other ecosystem participants;
• Strong understanding of open banking / API banking use cases, including account information services, payment initiation, collections, disbursements, partner-led payments, and embedded finance opportunities;
• Ability to assess partner business models, strategic fit, expected volumes, customer segments, commercial viability, and long-term ecosystem value for the bank;
• Hands-on experience in structuring partnership propositions, commercial models, pricing logic, revenue-sharing arrangements, settlement approaches, and service-level expectations;
• Strong understanding of bank payment ecosystems and how APIs can be used to expand outreach, distribution, and transaction flows beyond the bank’s owned channels;
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance, and risk considerations relevant to API-led partnerships, including KYC / AML, sanctions consent, data sharing, customer protection, and operational controls;
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to engage both internal decision-makers and external partners at senior levels;
• Ability to prepare business cases, partnership proposals, market scans, product notes, go-to-market plans, and management presentations for ecosystem expansion initiatives;
• Exposure to open banking / API banking partnerships, embedded finance or ecosystem-led payments growth;
• Experience working with fintechs, aggregators, EMIs, wallets, B2B platforms, or international players to enable payment or banking services through partnerships;
• Familiarity with use cases such as collections, disbursements, pay-by-bank, account verification, merchant payments, or other account-based payment services.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in open banking, API banking, payments business development, fintech partnerships, digital financial services, or transaction banking.

• At least 3 years of direct experience in building or managing partnerships for API-led payment services with banks, fintechs, aggregators, EMIs, wallets, or digital platforms.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Location : Preferably on-site based at Lahore. However, work arrangement can also be considered on Hybrid model
