The Senior Continuous Improvement Process Engineer drives process excellence and operational efficiency within Guardant Health's Operations department. This role focuses on business process reengineering through data analysis, process mapping and optimization, and customer support to deliver exceptional performance outcomes. Key focus areas include building system integrations (LIMS and Salesforce), addressing customer complaints, reducing turnaround time, enhancing the customer portal, and driving cost reduction initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce test turnaround time, enhance customer service, analyze and reduce COGS, and improve product quality .
Proactively identifies improvement projects with cross functional teams and b uild business cases for improvement initiatives including ROI analysis and resource requirements .
Facilitate kaizen events and rapid improvement workshops with cross-functional stakeholders .
Track and report on improvement project portfolio status, benefits realization, and key milestones to leadership .
Train operations staff on continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
Enhance customer engagement to optimize internal and external relationships through effective use of project metrics and KPIs .
Execute continuous improvement strategies aligned with current operational priorities and business objectives .
Serve as a change agent by championing and facilitating effective organizational change initiatives .
Develop operational models to forecast growth, support new product launches, and identify process optimization opportunities .
Champion a quality-first culture by initiating and supporting initiatives that drive accuracy and ensure consistent regulatory compliance .
Design and implement optimal production planning and execution strategies for Guardant Health's product portfolio .
Establish meaningful KPIs and measure actual performance against productivity standards and targets .
Develop and maintain process documentation including process flow diagrams, SOPs, and work instructions .
Develop reports, change requests, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures
Solve complex problems in ambiguous environments with limited standardization and multiple variables .
Leverage AI tools to streamline processes, develop innovative solutions, and perform advanced data analysis .
Qualifications:
Requires a BS degree in Engineering, Biochemistry or related discipline
Must have 5+ years in Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry with experience in business analysis and project realization for Biospecimen Management Workflows.
Must have 5+ years of experience in an Operational Excellence, Business Excellence or Process Engineering role.
Experience using , Smartsheets , G - Suite , MS Office Suite and Salesforce.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with multiple layers of the organization.
Experience in developing organizational metrics and visual management systems for key performance indicators.
Highly skilled in visualization tools, SharePoint, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).
Leads the design of cutting-edge approaches and solutions utilizing broad knowledge, best practices and benchmarking.
Leads teams or individuals on project work, to help clients and operators achieve sustainable results
Influences others to implement new solution .
Manages projects and program execution of low to moderate complexity.
Understands the organization, customer needs, and the reasons behind special practices; articulates linkage between business goals and process behind organization practices.
Analyzes ambiguous problems utilizing demonstrated proficiency of lean tools such as VSM, Standard work, Six Sigma, 5S and other lean tools. Breaks down complex information in a systematic and communicable manner
Works with enterprise business units at the operational and corporate level to drive process improvements, identifying compliance to customer service standards and strategies for consistent, repeatable execution
Has 6-Sigma Green Belt, and PMP, preferred.
Work Environment:
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment . Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment . Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Hybrid Work Model: This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies. Guardant has defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires.
