Senior Contract Manager

About the role
The Senior Contract Manager will be responsible for leading contractual management activities for the portfolio of power assets ("assets") which are operational / under construction.
Responsibilities
- Manage Project Agreements including Power Purchase Agreement, EPC contract, O&M agreement and various project agreements of various assets to ensure compliance with all terms and conditions and ensure alerts are raised timely for the needed action.
- Lead, direct, and provide expert opinion on all contractual aspects of executing the assigned project or portfolio, including risk assessment and disputes.
- Ensure full awareness of the provisions of Power Purchase Agreement, EPC contract, O&M agreement and various project agreements and manage the stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts both during construction and operations.
- Respond to correspondences from various counterparties and ensure the interest of the company is protected.
- Review, assess and prepare contractual claims (including EoT and cost claims), ensuring alignment with contract provisions, supporting evidence and project strategy.
- Develop and maintain contract check list and ensure risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated.
- Interface with senior management team, finance, and legal personnel to meet objectives.
- Establish procedures for award and administration of project contracts.
- Act as the first point of contact with respect to all insurance matters.
- Undertake any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and/or purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by management.
- Liaise with team members of various assets and support them regarding all contract matters.
- Liaise with legal specialists as required and support team members in managing contractual matters.
- Prepare the monthly MIS reports for various assets for the management review.
- Ensure compliance with ACWA policies and guidelines and auditing compliance wherever necessary and business ethics are maintained to the highest level.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or construction law. Master's Degree is preferable.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience working with large complex projects in Utilities, Energy, Oil & Gas industry
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience working with construction claims.
Required Skills
- Administrating multiple contract agreements.
- Good knowledge of financial, commercial, and contractual matters.
- Good knowledge of drafting and issuing contractual letters, notices, agreements and amendment to the various project agreements.
- Good knowledge of contract law.
- Good knowledge of design, engineering, construction, commissioning and operation and maintenance.
- Good communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
