About the job:


Kent is seeking an Senior Contracts Specialist to join our growing engineering Team within the Oil & Gas market in Khobar, Saudi Arabia . This is a pivotal opportunity to help shape a new and expanding team, strengthen our technical capability, and enhance Kent’s presence and reputation across the sector.



Details / responsibilities:


  • Supporting in pre-contract negotiation with Subcontractors to ensure back-to-back T&C's
  • Handling day-to-day post contract administration (Subcontracts & Prime Contract)
  • Reviewing and drafting correspondence
  • Managing Change Orders for both Subcontractors and Prime Contract
  • Preparing/ Assessing claims
  • Reviewing terms and conditions to identify and mitigate risks, including identifying non-standard clauses.
  • Manage the implementation of Kent procedures and systems
  • Conduct training sessions of relevant personnel on key Contract T&C's
  • Collaborating with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams and the client's own representatives
  • Support to negotiate with Client, Contractors and Subcontractors as necessary
  • Preparing monthly status reports on letter logs, contract performance, variations, and claims
  • Maintain good relations with Clients, Partners, Contractors, Subcontractors & Governmental Authorities
  • Maintain standards of HSSEQ and comply with Kent’s Integrated Management System requirements
  • Ensure reasonable care is taken of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace



In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.


Qualifications:


  • Legal/ QS/ Engineering/ Business Qualification to Degree Level
  • Strong negotiation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical attributes
  • Professional communication skills –Able to communicate with peers, customers, and vendors
  • Contract negotiation and Claims experience


Requirements:


  • Experience: 15+ years in contract administration, typically in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction)
  • Experience: 7+ years of working with Saudi Aramco
  • Experience in tender, award and administration of subcontract packages and prime contracts



Communication:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client engagement skills focused on clarity and technical assurance.
  • Able to lead teams and establish clear communication routines.



Behavioral Competency:

You will influence others internally and externally, including senior leaders. You will be providing leadership to Managers, and Professionals or Technicians, and the area of your impact typically will be at a country level.
