Control Systems Engineer (Foxboro DCS)

Salary: $100,000 – $160,000 depending on experience - 1099 contracts also available

This role is focused on Foxboro I/A DCS engineers who want to work on real industrial systems without the chaos that often comes with plant level roles.

You would join a long established automation and engineering services company that supports heavy industrial clients across sectors like pulp and paper, chemicals, manufacturing, and materials processing. The company has built its reputation on solving difficult automation problems and embedding experienced engineers directly into customer projects.

The team is growing because several major clients are asking for deeper expertise around Foxboro systems.

What you’ll do

You will work as part of a process controls and operational technology team delivering automation solutions across a variety of industrial environments.

Responsibilities typically include:

• Configuration and implementation of Foxboro I/A (Invensys I/A) DCS systems

• Supporting system design, deployment, commissioning, and plant integration

• Working directly with customer sites to improve control system performance and reliability

• Supporting upgrades, migrations, and optimization projects

• Collaborating with project managers and other controls engineers on automation projects

• Occasionally working embedded at client sites for project delivery or commissioning

Some engineers work primarily from the office or remotely, while others spend periods embedded with customer sites depending on project needs.

What you’ll need

• Experience working with Foxboro DCS systems (configuration or implementation)

• Background in industrial process control environments such as pulp and paper, chemicals, mining, energy, or manufacturing

• Understanding of distributed control systems and plant automation environments

• Ability to work directly with industrial clients and troubleshoot real world control problems

• Willingness to travel to customer sites when required

Engineers with a mix of commissioning, project delivery, plant support, or system integration experience are all of interest.

Pay: $104,435.26 - $190,000.00 per year
