Job Description


The Target Hiring Range for this position is: $110,000-$130,000

The Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a Senior Coordinator of State Office Project Management. Join a dynamic team responsible for managing the opening, renovation, and relocation of Senate state offices across the country. This role leads cross-functional teams including internal stakeholders, federal partners, and contractors through critical project milestones from concept to completion. The incumbent will shape project scopes, coordinate IT and telecom infrastructure installations, and ensure successful execution through strategic planning, risk management, and process improvement. This position is ideal for a skilled project manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and values public service.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Job Duties
Manages the opening, closing, relocation or renovation of Senate state offices, leading other SAA, General Services Administration (GSA), vendor, and facility management teams in the execution of critical project milestones. Develops project scopes and expectations for state office projects including facilitating project meetings with senior level Senate staff, project managers, property managers, SAA groups, GSA and general contractors. Develops section work plans and coordinates projects, tasks, resources, deadlines and priorities to staff; monitors work progress, adjusts project schedules and updates status of work on a regular basis. Develops scopes of work for the installation of the Senate IT and telecom infrastructure based on building infrastructure and construction data. Performs regular risk assessments on project scopes, timelines, and requirements to minimize potential project risks and increased costs and delays, all while ensuring client expectations are met. Measures performance to identify areas for future improvement. Provides input for policies, standards and procedures and helps senior management with process improvement initiatives. Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Required Education
Associate’s Degree.


Required Work Experience

  • 3-5 years in Project Management.

Required Special Skills/ Knowledge

  • As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role.

Desired Qualifications

  • Applicant would have an industry certification such as PMP.
  • Experience in both commercial and federal construction projects.
  • Practical knowledge of commercial construction processes.

Working Conditions

  • This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

To be employed by a Senate employing office in a paid position in the continental United States an individual must:
1. Be a U.S. citizen;
2. Be lawfully admitted for permanent residence and seeking citizenship as outlined in 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)(B);
3. Be (i) admitted as a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157 or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1158 and (ii) have filed a declaration of intention to become a lawful permanent resident and then a citizen when eligible; or
4. Owe allegiance to the U.S. (i.e., qualify as a non-citizen U.S. national under federal law).
