Job Overview
The Senior Coordinator, Production Management will assist the Production Management Team in all aspects of Production from budget preparation, through pre-production to post production of PBS SoCal in the creation of smart, original content for multiple distribution channels – on broadcast and digital platforms.
The ideal candidate has the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with rigorous attention to detail and organization and able to manage several projects simultaneously.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
50% Production Management Coordination

Assist & Backup Production Managers in production needs as required

Manage Productions as assigned

Setup Production Calendars, Binders, files for productions

Book and schedule freelance crews for production

Assist in organizing travel and location needs for productions

Prepare paperwork for new hires
25% Administrative

Assist with Programming Department needs such as submission review, programming rights and deadlines, backup with Protrac entries

Set up and Manage Show Production Calendars & Contact sheets as necessary

Assist in processing Production payroll

Manage Editing Calendar for Personnel & Rooms

Manage Studio & Studio Facilities Bookings
-
Manage Archival Materials with outside companies

Prep & Manage Releases (personal, materials, etc)

Coordinate with outside production companies when it involves studio work/rentals.

Work with departments such as Programming, Finance, Legal and Facilities as it relates to production needs

Manage tape library, dubs, captioning, transcription needs for production as required

Manage shared Legal drive with updated forms, releases, contracts

Assist Production Managers in tracking Financial Information & Cost Reports for Productions

Track Vendors invoices

Track Production Rights & Releases for Guilds

Manage shared Legal drive with updated forms, releases, contracts
Qualifications:

Knowledge of Television Guild & Union Contracts
-
Experience in Public Media preferred, but not required

Knowledge of Television Production

Good verbal and written communication skills

Team Player who works calmly under pressure

Self-motivated and efficient
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The working conditions are primarily a general office or studio setting. However, the position will require off-site travel for productions on location as necessary.
