Job Title: Senior Cost Control Engineer

Location: Riyadh - Qiddiya Project

Role Purpose: To manage, monitor, and report on project costs and quantities, ensuring accurate forecasting and compliance with engineering project budgets.


Duties Performed

Key Accountabilities

  • Support project budgeting by preparing and monitoring cost estimates.
  • Ensure compliance of project expenditures with financial policies and regulations.
  • Track, monitor, and report on budget progress and variances.
  • Provide cost analysis and recommendations to project managers for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure financial control is maintained throughout project execution.

Key Activities

  • Preparation of cost estimates for project budgets.
  • Development and review of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Quantity take-offs from drawings and project documents.
  • Verification of contractor interim and final bills.
  • Analysis of site inspection reports and contractor claims.
  • Preparation of cost reports, variance reports, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Rate analysis and verification against contract terms.
  • Support in preparation of final accounts and reconciliation of cost reports with as-built drawings.
  • Assist in pre-contract cost estimates for subcontractor packages.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: site based for cost validation and progress verification.
  • Degree of Risk: Low to moderate (site visits involve standard construction risks).

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in cost control or planning within construction projects.
  • Proven track record in cost estimation, reporting, and financial monitoring.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • Certifications preferred: PMP, RMP, PMI-SP, or ACP.
