Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Cost Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to generate cost plans and participate in value engineering/value management activities, coordinate and communicate with the Client’s cost management consultant at all stages of the design development to ensure that our design aligns with the approved Project Budget.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates and cost plans for all design phases of large-scale projects.
    • Develop comprehensive budgets based on project scope and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with the overall project objectives.
  • Shall prepare the ‘Design to Budget’ reports.

  • participate in VE exercises.

  • Provide benchmark data and comment on the Client’s cost management consultant’s estimates

  • Shall use all reasonable endeavors to ensure that the final cost of the Project at Completion does not exceed the Project budget.

  • Provide information to the Client’s cost management consultant to assist with the preparation of preliminary, monthly, milestone, and final Project cost plans, and comply with the variation control procedures identified by the Client.

  • Shall coordinate, support, and review the value management /
    engineering, lifecycle, and facilities maintenance cost modelling services and deliverables, as performed by the Client’s cost management consultant, in conjunction with the other consultants.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quantity surveying and cost engineering, within large-scale infrastructure, construction projects.

  • Strong experience in cost estimating, budgeting, in complex projects.

  • Expertise in construction contracts, including FIDIC, and similar frameworks, and their impact on cost management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound financial decisions under pressure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,

  • In-depth knowledge of cost estimation, preparing cost plans.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Certifications: Preferred AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering), MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), or similar certifications.

  • Software Skills: Experience with advanced cost software such as CostX, or similar platforms, AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
