Senior Data and BI Analyst

We are looking to hire a Senior Data and BI Analyst with strong technical depth across enterprise reporting, cloud data platforms, and advanced analytics to support one of the largest semi-government organization in Dubai.

This is a 12-month contract role which is renewable subject to performance and business requirements.

The role sits within the Data & Analytics function and reports directly to the Manager in Data & Analytics.

We are looking for a passionate Senior Data and BI Analyst who is experienced in Azure-based data platforms and enterprise reporting environments. You should have strong technical expertise in SQL-driven analytics, cloud data engineering, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data governance, along with the ability to provide operational support for critical data systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor existing data pipelines to ensure smooth operation, timely data availability, and system reliability
• Provide troubleshooting support for data issues, including pipeline failures, data quality concerns, and performance bottlenecks
• Support ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Logic Apps, and SSIS
• Perform system health checks and provide operational and incident support, including weekend monitoring when required
• Monitor data quality, resolve data integrity issues, and implement validation and control mechanisms
• Manage daily management reports and support configuration changes
• Handle Power BI access requests and provide ongoing operational reporting support
• Design, develop, and enhance data pipelines and data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs
• Ingest, transform, and optimize data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for performance and scalability
• Ensure adherence to data security, governance, and compliance best practices

Knowledge, skills & experience:

• Minimum of 7 - 10 years of hands-on experience on similar roles.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Logic Apps, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Delta Tables
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (bronze, silver, and gold layers)
• Proficiency in SQL and PySpark
• Experience with data governance and access control, including Unity Catalog
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT frameworks
• Good understanding of data governance, access control, and GDPR compliance
• Strong troubleshooting skills across data pipelines, reporting, and analytics platforms
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI is an advantage
