About

The Lead Data Scientist is a technical leadership role focused on applying advanced analytics, machine learning (ML), GenAI, and statistical modeling to solve complex business problems. This role typically involves hands-on development of predictive models, algorithms, and deep data insights, as well as leading a team of data scientists from early model development through to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models, AI algorithms, and statistical analyses to address business challenges (e.g., predictive analytics, recommendation, hyper-personalization, fraud detection, etc.).
• Lead a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance and mentoring on model development, experimentation, and implementation.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Business to integrate data science solutions into production systems.
• Identify relevant datasets, perform data mining, and ensure data quality for modeling purposes.
• Communicate insights and model outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive business decisions.
• Define project roadmaps—from ideation and experimentation to production deployment and monitoring—ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Build robust predictive and prescriptive models (classification, regression, clustering, time-series, GenAI, etc.).
• Continuously explore, pilot new methods and select proper modeling—Deep Learning, NLP, GenAI, LLMs, XAI—and promote best practices.
• Describe AI models using Explainable AI.

Qualifications

• BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience leading projects and teams in data science.
• Experience in delivering similar projects in the banking sector.
• Proficiency in Python (or R), SQL, and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
• MUST: Experience deploying models in production environments, not only solution development.
• Preferred: Master’s or Diploma in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Working Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM, 6 hours overlap with UTC+2
