About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead our data engineering function. You will be responsible for building scalable data platforms, managing high-performing teams, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities-Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute the data engineering roadmap and architecture.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers and analytics engineers.
• Partner with stakeholders (Product, AI/ML, BI, Finance) to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Establish best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.

Technical Ownership

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Build and optimize data warehouses and lakes.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance.
• Oversee integration of multiple data sources (APIs, SaaS tools, transactional systems).
• Implement real-time and batch processing systems.
• Drive adoption of cloud-native data platforms.

Operations & Delivery

• Own delivery timelines, sprint planning, and resource allocation.
• Review system designs and make architectural decisions.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and SLAs for data systems.
• Manage budgets, tools, and vendor relationships.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5 –6 + years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platforms.
• 3–5+ years in people management or technical leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in Python / SQL / Spark.
• Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Expertise in data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and analytics engineering.
• Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis).
• Solid knowledge of DevOps / CI/CD for data.

Nice to Have (Plus Points)

• Experience supporting AI/ML pipelines.
• Familiarity with DBT and modern analytics stacks.
• Experience in fintech / SaaS / e-commerce domains.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, SOC2).
• MBA or advanced technical degree.
