Job Purpose:

• The Senior Data Scientist will leverage data to generate actionable insights, drive strategic decision-making, and solve complex business problems.
• This role involves developing models, performing statistical analyses, and communicating findings to stakeholders at various levels.
• The Senior Data Scientist will work across multiple departments, contribute to data-driven strategies, and enhance the company’s competitive edge through advanced analytics.

Job Responsibilities:

Data Acquisition and Preparation :

• Identify, collect, and clean relevant data from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Transform and normalize data to prepare it for analysis.

Data Analysis and Modeling :

• Develop and apply statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to analyze large datasets.
• Identify patterns, trends, and correlations within data to uncover meaningful insights.
• Build predictive models to forecast future outcomes and make informed decisions.

Data Visualization :

• Create clear and compelling visualizations (e.g., charts, graphs, dashboards) to communicate complex findings to stakeholders.
• Develop interactive data visualizations to facilitate exploration and analysis.

Problem Solving and Innovation :

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address business challenges using data-driven approaches.
• Develop innovative solutions and recommendations based on data-driven insights.

Stakeholder Engagement :

• Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, tailoring the message to the audience's needs.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and support.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3+ years of prior relevant experience in data analysis or a similar IT field, with significant experience in leadership and strategic roles.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and drive organizational change.
• A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or engineering is preferred.

Skills:

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
• Database Querying: Strong knowledge of database systems and query languages, particularly SQL, for extracting and managing large datasets.
• A deep understanding of statistical concepts (e.g., probability, regression, hypothesis testing) and mathematical principles (e.g., linear algebra).
• Expertise in data mining and machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering).
• Machine Learning (ML): Experience with a variety of ML and deep learning algorithms (e.g., random forest, neural networks, clustering) and associated frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Data Wrangling & Management: Skills in cleaning, transforming, and organizing raw, complex data to ensure integrity and usability.
• Data Visualization: Ability to use tools like, Power BI, or Matplotlib, Streamlit to create compelling visual reports and dashboards for communicating insights.
• Big Data & Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake).

Job Context:

• The Senior Data Scientist will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a requirement to work from any of the office location occupied by RSG and its subsidiaries. In addition, the Senior Data Scientist will be expected to also work, from time to time and possibly for extended periods from any project site.
• The Senior Data Scientist is part of a team of varying grades and different roles which delivers services to other areas of RSG, its subsidiaries and Customers as required.
