Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Database Developer with strong hands-on expertise in MongoDB and PostgreSQL, along with working knowledge of cloud-native deployments and AI-integrated data workflows.

You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and scaling databases that power high-volume, real-time applications.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep performance tuning skills, schema design expertise, and cloud deployment understanding.

Key Responsibilities

PostgreSQL (Core Transaction Systems)

• Design and optimize relational schemas
• Advanced indexing & query optimization
• Performance tuning under high concurrency
• Stored procedures & functions (when required)
• Partitioning & replication strategies
• Backup & recovery management
• Ensure ACID compliance for transaction-heavy systems

MongoDB (Flexible & Scalable Data Layer)

• Document schema modeling
• Aggregation pipeline optimization
• Indexing & performance tuning
• Sharding & replica set configuration
• Query optimization for large datasets
• Data lifecycle management (TTL, archiving)

Cloud Database Deployment

Hands-on experience with at least one:

• AWS / Azure
• EC2 / Virtual Machines
• Resource sizing (CPU, memory, IOPS planning)
• Horizontal vs vertical scaling

Responsibilities include:

• Deploying and managing cloud-hosted databases
• Multi-AZ configuration
• Monitoring & alerting
• Performance tuning in cloud environments
• Backup automation
• Cost optimization

AI-Integrated Data Systems (Important)

• Structuring data for ML/AI workflows
• Supporting analytics & predictive models
• Experience with vector storage (pgvector preferred)
• Preparing clean datasets for AI pipelines
• Integrating databases with AI tools & analytics engines
• Exposure to AI-assisted query optimization tools

Performance & Monitoring

• Query plan analysis
• Slow query debugging
• Database health monitoring
• Using tools like Prometheus / Grafana / CloudWatch
• Latency reduction strategies

Security & Compliance

• Role-based access control
• Encryption at rest & in transit
• Secure credential management
• Audit logging

Required Skill Set

Mandatory

✔ 7+ years database development experience
✔ Strong PostgreSQL expertise
✔ Strong MongoDB production experience
✔ Cloud-managed DB experience
✔ Performance tuning & optimization
✔ Understanding of AI-ready data structures

Preferred

✔ Fintech or transaction-heavy systems exposure
✔ Experience handling high concurrent workloads
✔ Basic DevOps exposure (CI/CD, containerization)
✔ Experience with Infrastructure as Code
