Step into an exciting opportunity as a Senior Design Engineer at Romac. In this senior-level role, you’ll design, develop new products, improve existing ones by applying advanced engineering principles and creative problem-solving. You’ll define technical approaches, lead mid-sized projects, guide junior engineers and technicians through all stages of the product development cycle, from concept to production. You’ll play a key part in driving innovation, improving product performance, and strengthening Romac’s ability to deliver reliable waterworks solutions that keep communities connected.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and development of new or modified products, from concept through testing and production release.
  • Resolve complex production and design challenges using expert-level technical knowledge across multiple disciplines.
  • Develop and implement production capabilities, procedures, and quality protocols to ensure efficient and consistent manufacturing.
  • Oversee or perform product testing, analyze results, and establish corrective actions to meet quality standards.
  • Guide engineers and technicians, manage project timelines, and lead cost reduction or process improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with demonstrated success in product design and development.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and MS Office, with strong technical skills in fabrication, coatings, castings, or machining.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities; able to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Expert knowledge in at least two of the following manufacturing processes; welding, forming, drawing, forming metal, casting and rubber molding.

Base Compensation Range: $100,600 – $151,000 a year. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. Our salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance.
