Senior Design Manager (Façade)

The Senior Design Manager (Façade) will lead the design development, coordination, and technical delivery of complex façade systems for a major iconic project in Saudi Arabia. This role requires a highly experienced façade specialist with 15+ years of expertise in façade engineering and design management, ideally gained within leading Project Management Consultancy (PMC) organizations.

The Senior Design Manager will oversee the full façade design lifecycle—from concept through detailed design, engineering, procurement, and construction support—ensuring world‑class quality, innovation, and compliance with project vision and regulatory requirements.

Façade Design Leadership

• Lead and manage the façade design strategy, ensuring alignment with the architectural vision, project objectives, and performance requirements.

• Oversee the development of façade concepts, detailed designs, material selections, and technical specifications.

• Provide expert guidance on complex façade systems, including high‑performance glazing, unitized curtain walls, shading systems, ETFE, GRC/GRP, metal cladding, and bespoke architectural features.

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance

• Review and approve façade design packages, calculations, shop drawings, mock‑ups, and material submissions.

• Ensure compliance with international standards, Saudi building codes, sustainability requirements, and project-specific performance criteria.

• Conduct technical risk assessments and drive mitigation strategies for façade engineering challenges.

Façade Design Leadership

Coordination & Interface Management

• Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, sustainability consultants, and specialist façade contractors.

• Manage interfaces between façade systems and adjacent building elements to ensure seamless integration.

• Facilitate design workshops, technical reviews, and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

PMC Governance & Delivery Controls

• Implement PMC-level design management processes, including design schedules, deliverable tracking, change control, and design review protocols.

• Ensure timely delivery of all façade-related design milestones in accordance with project timelines and contractual obligations.

• Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations, tender reviews, and contractor selection.

Construction Support & Site Engagement

• Provide technical support during façade fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning.

• Review site queries, NCRs, RFIs, and ensure timely resolution of façade-related issues.

• Oversee performance testing, mock-up inspections, and quality audits.

Stakeholder & Client Engagement

• Act as the primary façade design representative for client, consultant, and contractor interactions.

• Present design updates, technical reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership and project stakeholders.

• Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance and timely approvals.

Qualifications & Experience

• 12+ years of experience in façade design, engineering, and design management.

• Strong background working with Project Management Consultancy (PMC) firms on major, complex, or iconic projects.

• Proven experience delivering large-scale façade packages for high-rise, cultural, mixed-use, or landmark developments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Façade Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Deep technical knowledge of façade systems, materials, performance criteria, and international codes.

• Experience working in the GCC, preferably Saudi Arabia, with strong understanding of local regulations and climate considerations.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Additional Requirements

• Transferable Iqama (mandatory)
• Available to join immediately or on short notice

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ﷼55,000.00 - ﷼65,000.00 per month
