The Senior Design/Shop Drawing Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical) is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating detailed design and shop drawings for MEP systems in line with project specifications, standards, and client requirements. The role involves ensuring technical accuracy, constructability, compliance with regulations, and coordination across disciplines to support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:Design & Drawing Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and finalize MEP design drawings and shop drawings (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, electrical power, lighting, ELV systems, etc.).
  • Ensure all drawings comply with contract specifications, local codes, standards, and authority requirements (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, BS, etc.).
  • Prepare schematic diagrams, load schedules, equipment selection, and coordination layouts.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, structural, civil) to resolve design and site conflicts.
  • Update drawings as per design revisions, RFIs, or site instructions.

Technical & Coordination Duties

  • Review design intent drawings, identify discrepancies, and propose value-engineered solutions.
  • Attend technical and coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and ensure timely submission of all design deliverables.
  • Provide technical support to site teams during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Verify vendor and subcontractor drawings for compliance before approval.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all designs and drawings adhere to quality standards and company procedures.
  • Conduct design risk assessments and propose mitigation measures.
  • Review material submittals, method statements, and technical documents for compliance.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Supervise and guide junior engineers and CAD technicians.
  • Ensure effective workload management within the design/drafting team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 4–10 years of experience in MEP design and shop drawing within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and related design software.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with local authority standards (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, DM, Civil Defense, etc. if in GCC).
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, coordination, and site implementation.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
