About Technology Development
The TD team for ISEA is focused on Customer Product development & Engineering, Innovation for the region, rollout of new technologies for the region, testing, Failure Investigation, scaleup from POC to series production, Portfolio Management etc.

- Product Development & Engineering – This division brings out conceptual/detailed designs to support BOH/ETO activities based on customer specifications. Technology trends like digitization of workflows, e- Aviation, Sensorization, Product localization, Design automation, Agile, DFX and Model based designs, (MBDs) have increased the operational efficiency and application productivity. What our customer gain from this is efficient digital data exchange, traceability and flexibility in design changes, reduced carbon footprint and higher performance products.
- Testing: Group Testing Services is a trusted partner in design, process and supplier validation. The testing team ensures greater focus on customer requirements, quality and operational efficiency. This entails greater support for SKF’s processes in a faster manner by applying global test standards, adapted to local customer specific requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Engineer (Design Automation & Engineering Data Management)
Reports To: Manager Global PE
Role Type: Individual Contributor
Location: Bangalore
Provide technical leadership for assigned product lines along with expertise around PLM , engineering data & Digitalization topics, supporting building of digital engineering architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute and drive technical projects around PLM structures for products.
- Contribute towards engineering master data management across product lines.
- Ensure standardization and reusability of design assets across product lines
- Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide critical inputs to governance committee on PLM & data topics.
- Collaborate with Development Portfolio Leads, Technical owners to align and drive the projects supporting digitalization journey.
Accountability:
- Engineering data integrity and compliance with standards for defined PLs.
- Engineering Master data ownership & standardization across defined PLs.
- Risk mitigation effectiveness.
- Defined and standardized PLM product structures across PLs.
- Drive design automation execution across PLs
Required Skills
Technical (specific for a certain function, role or task):
- Knowledge of basic mechanical design with understanding of modular product architectures.
- Understanding of PLM , with windchill (&/or team center) could be added advantage.
- Ability to assess technical feasibility and dependencies.
- Experience in data management & analytics.
- Experience in programming techniques and other digital skillsets is added advantage.
Business (related to business understanding):
- Negotiation and stakeholder alignment.
- Understanding of business impact of data governance decisions.
- Awareness of competitive technology landscape.
People (relevant to interaction with people and self):
- Facilitation of governance meetings and decision forums.
- Cross functional collaboration and influence.
- Clear communication of complex technical concepts.
- Education is needed for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline is needed. Exceptions are allowed in cases where exceptional expertise has been built up during a longer career in technical role.
- (Optional) Data analytics and programming capabilities
- Experience: 5+ years in Design, PLM within the relevant industry or domain, exceptions can be accepted in case the extensive experience or knowledge is built over relevant topics.
- Strong mechanical design understanding with clarity on modular product structures & configurations
- Experience in data management & analytics.
- Experience in Design Automation.
- Strong communication skills.
