The salary range for this position is $108,300 - $135,500 per year. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and San Francisco location. SUMMARY
OLEHERNIKSEN is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and conceptual Senior Designer to join our in-house creative team. We are looking for a candidate with experience designing dynamic, on-brand creative assets, print collateral, and social/digital advertising. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of design for print, digital, and emerging media formats, with a strong focus on visual merchandising. Strong design aesthetic and typography skills, along with a passion for customer experience and brand storytelling, are essential.

This position primarily supports the Creative Director in planning, managing, and delivering strategic global brand creative from initial concept to final execution and release. The role also involves creating and developing innovative, polished creative assets that encompass the full brand experience.


The ideal candidate must be highly organized and a strong, creative problem solver. The Designer will also collaborate with and support other designers and senior directors on larger projects as needed. The ideal candidate MUST be an organized, creative, and strategic thinker who can prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and produce comprehensive, brand-right layouts and graphics for seasonal and product-driven launches, including advertising and special projects.
  • Oversee visual merchandising design and brand coherence.
  • Manage a small team of production and junior designers if needed.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of typography, photography, layout, graphic design, and digital design; ensures all assets conform to brand guidelines.
  • Oversee the implementation and development of the global creative visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Assist Senior Creative Director and Creative Director with graphic production tasks and project deliverables, including managing assets and ensuring clarity of direction and consistent use of creative across all channels.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the latest design, typography, illustration, fashion/beauty, and culture.
  • Execution of assets aligned with business objectives
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of brand aesthetics, usability principles, and refined design taste.
  • MUST be able to independently AND collaboratively navigate the creative process, negotiating successfully with other teams while being communicative, proactive, resourceful, professional, and flexible.
  • Maintains collaborative partnerships with supporting teams, including
    Brand Management, Marketing, Program Management, Product Dev/Packaging, Copy and Retouching.
  • Meet all deadlines under pressure and ambiguity while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Actively accepts feedback from peers and executives and makes changes during the revision process.
  • Considers how a customer shops in today's environment; emphasizes solutions and recognizes the importance of a strong digital and local presence. Understands how creative can shift from one format to another and how usability, efficiency, and ROI can be affected by this shift, ultimately supporting customer conversion, sales, market impact, and other business goals.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree or BFA. Graphic Design
    (or related: Communications Design, or UX/UI) degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in print and visual design for retail environments. Experience in Retail/e-Commerce, Fashion, and Beauty is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Can articulate creative ideas, either verbally, by example, or by sketches.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on developing and recommending solutions quickly, calmly, and clearly.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of designers.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and remain flexible to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of Adobe's Creative Suite, with a comfortable and proficient knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, and Adobe Firefly are highly recommended.
  • Must possess excellent typography and design skills
  • Strong understanding of web standards, grid system, and responsive design as well as print mechanics.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and have a collaborative approach to creative development
  • Time management, organizational skills, file handling, and strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment and meet very tight deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word,
    Excel and PowerPoint
  • Maintain a positive and open attitude while making multiple rounds of revisions to projects
  • The drive to excel and succeed; self-motivated and agile.
