Senior Designer - Kidswear

Firstcry Retail DWC-LLC Dubai is seeking a highly creative and commercially driven Senior Designer to lead the design and development of our private label kidswear collections. This role requires a strong understanding of children’s fashion trends, fabric innovation, graphic storytelling, and global retail standards. The ideal candidate combines creativity with strategic thinking and has experience working with buying, merchandising, and sourcing teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Creative Direction

• Lead the end-to-end design process for seasonal kidswear collections (newborn to 14 years).

• Develop mood boards, color palettes, print concepts, graphics, silhouettes, and trims aligned with brand DNA.

• Translate trend forecasts into commercially viable collections.

• Ensure consistency in aesthetic, quality, and fit standards across categories.

2. Trend & Market Research

• Conduct global trend research (fashion, graphics, materials, trims, and sustainability).

• Analyze competitor brands and international markets.

• Present seasonal concepts and key trend directions to internal stakeholders.

3. Product Development

• Collaborate closely with technical, sourcing, and production teams.

• Oversee tech pack creation and sample development.

• Review fittings and provide construction improvements.

• Maintain strong knowledge of fabric performance and child safety standards.

4. Private Label Collaboration

• Work closely with buying to develop exclusive collections.

• Align designs with target customer profiles and price architecture.

• Ensure on-time delivery aligned with merchandising calendars.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design / Textile Design or related field.

• 5 years of experience in apparel design, in kidswear.

• Strong portfolio showcasing kidswear collections (woven, knit, graphics, prints).

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

• Strong understanding of garment construction and fabric development.

• Experience working with private label retailers.
