  • Translate customer briefs into executable designs that meet cost, quality, and margin targets

Design & Technical Execution

  • Specify fabrics, trims, washes, finishes, and construction details
  • Partner closely with fit, PD, and production to ensure accuracy and manufacturability

Sample & Timeline Management

  • Own sample calendars and development timelines
  • Track multiple programs simultaneously without things slipping
  • Review samples, lead fittings, and provide clear, actionable comments
  • Flag risks early and propose solutions

Vendor & Factory Collaboration

  • Communicate directly with domestic and overseas factories
  • Lead vendor meetings and development calls
  • Ensure designs are executed to spec while balancing cost and feasibility
  • Support fabric sourcing and mill development as needed

Customer Collaboration (Private Label)

  • Work directly with private-label customers on design development
  • Present CADs, revisions, and concepts clearly and professionally
  • Incorporate customer feedback while protecting timelines and margins
  • Act as a trusted design partner

ERP & Data Management

  • Enter and maintain style-level data in our ERP system (styles, colors, fabrics, BOMs, etc.)
  • Ensure design and development data is accurate, complete, and production-ready
  • Partner with Production and Operations to maintain clean handoffs between design and execution

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Merchandising, Production, Sales, and Operations
  • Support costing, margin reviews, and line planning
  • Ensure alignment between design intent and business goals

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of men’s apparel design experience
  • Strong background in denim and/or woven bottoms preferred (knits a plus)
  • Proven experience running private-label programs
  • Expert-level ability to create tech packs from scratch
  • Strong CAD skills (Adobe Illustrator required)
  • Deep understanding of garment construction, fit, and materials
  • Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented
